  • Television Spots
    "They Killed 8,000" (60 second)
This spot shows a Wisconsin town that has been completely wiped out. Evidence markers, similar to what you'd see at a crime scene, are placed throughout the town. The first evidence marker we see shows the number "1" and the final marker shown has the number "8,000." It's revealed at the spot's conclusion that 8,000 people are killed every year by Big Tobacco. It's like taking a Wisconsin town and wiping it right off the map.

    "They Killed 8,000" (30 seconds)
This spot is an abbreviated version of the :60 second spot.

Smoke-Free Workplace Radio

In Winter of 2005-2006, the following three radio ads ran. Each ad features a story of a person impacted by secondhand smoke and promotes smoke-free workplaces.

A media request form should be filled out for use of all radio ads. The radio spots are available for use as PSAs or community education efforts. If you are contemplating a paid media flight, a consultation with the Media Coordinator must be scheduled prior to buying time for the radio spots. This is necessary to avoid overlap with statewide media buys.

Dr. Link spent his career and final years as an advocate to smoke-free policies, cancer support groups, and hospice care.
