Thai Vue is the Executive Director of Wisconsin United Coalition of Mutual Assistance Association, Inc. (WUCMAA), a coalition of 10 Hmong Mutual Assistance Associations across Wisconsin; he joined WUCMAA in June 2012. He is a Hmong ethnic from Laos and came to the U.S. in 1979 with his wife and their first son as a political refugees. Thai and his wife Kay have 6 grown children & 7 grand children. Thai joined the La Crosse Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association, Inc. in 1986 as the Executive Associate Director and Executive Director in 2005 until 2010. Thai was elected to the Board of Education of La Crosse School District in 1993 and served one term – 3 years; appointed by Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson to the Wisconsin Equal Right Council in 1993 and by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle to the Wisconsin Public Health Council in 2004 and re-appointed by Governor Scott Walker in 2014. Mr. Vue had sit on various non-profit boards including American Red Cross and Workforce Development.
