Spencer Straub is the Media and Communications Coordinator for Wisconsin’s Tobacco Prevention and Control Program (TPCP). In that position, Spencer directs the TPCP’s paid and earned media efforts and provides communications technical assistance and tools to local partners. Spencer has also served on the Tobacco Control Network Executive Committee, as well as advisory committees for the CDC Media Network and the CDC Media Campaign Resource Center. Spencer has 19 years of health communications experience. Before joining the TPCP in 2007, he served as an Account Manager for a Madison-based ad firm for five years. In that position, he managed several non-profit/social marketing accounts. In his time with the TPCP, Spencer has led media trainings and overseen branding (and rebranding) efforts, statewide media campaigns, collateral development, and market research projects. Spencer has also assisted the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in other communications efforts, including recently serving as a Communications Specialist for Wisconsin COVID-19 response efforts.
