FDA Unveils New Graphic Cigarette Pack Warning Labels

Starting June 18, 2021 new health warnings will be required to appear prominently on cigarette packages and in ads. The warnings are required by the FDA, which finalized its rule on March 17. The warnings must occupy the top 50% of cigarette packs and at least 20% of cigarette ads. The warnings highlight a number of health risks, and must be randomly and equally displayed on cigarette packages and rotated quarterly in cigarette ads.
